| Duette®
PowerRise Remote Control System Designed
with safety and convenience in mind. Duette
PowerRise has a built-in Safety Stop. When the
shade touches an object in its path while being
lowered, it stops moving. Most importantly, it
also has no cords, making the home safer for children.
Break-Thru® Safety Tassel
In response to safety concerns,
Hunter Douglas was the first manufacturer to introduce
the Break-Thru Safety Tassel as a standard feature
on all horizontal blinds. The patented Break-Thru
safety tassel is designed to break apart with
minimal pressure, causing the cords to separate
and release if a small child or animal should
become entangled in the cords.
PermAssure® Safety Wand
The PermAssure Safety
Wand completely replaces a vertical blind's chain
and control cord with one easy-to-use wand that
opens and traverses the blind and is out of the
reach of children.
Cord Tensioning System
for All Cord Loop Products
A two-part assembly cord
tensioning system which doubles as a cord weight
and contains a spring-loaded pulley. When the
tensioner is hooked onto the cord tensioning bracket,
the cord loop is held taut, reducing the possibility
of a child wrapping or looping the cord around
his or her neck. Brackets are available for attachment
either inside or outside the window casement.
Cord Safety Kits
Also available for loose
cords is a Child Safety Kit that includes two
cord cleats, mounting screws, and installation
instructions.
The cleats should be attached 6" to
12" apart at a safe height, taking into account
furniture or other objects upon which a child
may climb. Then, after each use of the shade,
simply wrap the excess cord around the cleats.
It's fast, easy, and safe.
In addition to cord cleats, there are three
other basic ways to keep cords out of a child's
reach:
- Cord Clip. Clip
the cord to itself using a clip or other clamping
device.
- Tie. Wrap or
tie the cord to itself.Cord
- Tensioner. Designed
for continuous cord loops, it holds the loop
taut and secure.
